I had been working since morning under the hot Lagos sun, delivering packages across the busy streets. By noon, my legs felt heavy, and my eyes struggled to stay open. Behold i found a quiet spot under a mango tree, i had to set my bag beside me, and decided to take a quick nap.
At first, i worried about wasting time because i still had so many clients to deliver to, but exhaustion took over me. Within minutes, i drifted into a light sleep. The noise of honking cars and distant chatter faded, replaced by calm silence.
Fifteen minutes later, i woke up suddenly. For a moment, i looked around, confused, but then something felt different. My head was clearer, body lighter, and the stress i carried earlier seemed to have disappeared.
I stood up, stretched my body, and smiled. The quick nap had done more than just rest to my body, it had refreshed my mind. With renewed energy, i picked up my bag and continued the deliveries, moving faster and thinking sharper than before.
That day, i realized something simple but powerful: sometimes, the best way to move forward is to pause, even if just for a short nap.
