I paused at my seat in the audience, nervously patting my fingers on my thigh- waiting for my name to be declared openly. It has been quite the year! Who knew I would achieve this great honor?? But all my hard work paid off!
Just then, my name Ayesha Malik was called and I stood to a round of applause. It was time to give my speech, informing everyone how happy I was that our team has worked so hard and my project had been a great accomplishment!
Here was the speech I gave!
First of all, I am much thankful to the Allah Almighty who gave me so much courage to fulfill this goal of spreading education; although it was a tough task to visit the home of each individual who was against education and showed the excuses about the high education fee and disadvantages of education; I and my team did hard work to convince them;
I still remember the kid who hugged me and wept saying miss give me books I will read them at night time as I have to do labor whole the day and my father wouldn't allow me to get to school.
What step we did?We raised funds to support their family as the biggest issue we tackled was the issue of money due to which they were victims of child labor; I am thankful to "Helping hands" who supported us and made our organization spared across the social media plate.
I would dedicate this award to Rida who was my first student and motivated me to work even harder;
This award is dedicated to my parents who made me realized the right and wrong way and supported me in this fight for education.
This award is dedicated to my team who aided me in each survey and remained with me through each think and thin.
