Myths are part and Parcel of any society. Some of them are stories or beliefs about a place, a people or about a thing. Some of these myths are fictional stories or beliefs and are not real.
Examples of some myths that I know that are associated with Africa but they are not so includes; It’s a common myth for people in developed countries to think that African live in huts and villages but African have developed cities and nations.
Presently it’s vastly believed that Nigerians are scammers but vast majority of Nigerians are honest and hardworking citizens who are pushing to make ends meet.
A myth that remains is that African is a county well, African is a continent with 55 countries and it’s not covered entirely by the Sahara dessert. The Sahara dessert is found in only a portion of North Africa.
Hehehe, do I begin to talk about the myth and believe that Africans are voodoo practitioners and witch doctors. Well, now we all know better.
Thanks goodness that with the help of development and technology alongside modernization, some of these myths have been busted.
