Su madre, Deméter (Ceres, para los romanos), la diosa de las cosechas y la fertilidad de los campos, la busca desesperadamente y al no hallarla el mundo se sumerge en la oscuridad, ya que Démeter es la diosa del renacer, de la fertilidad y cuando desaparece su hija deja de cumplir con sus funciones habituales en el mundo de los seres humanos.PERSÉFONE Y DEMÉTER
Desde que su hija Perséfone desapareció
