Was chatting with my colleagues over lunch and was discussing about burnout from workplace stress.. We also spoke about other possible reasons for burnout, including caregiving responsibilities, financial and relationship issues. Thought it is apt to share with the community here.
There are indeed a few avenues to explore when you are feeling burnout, summarising some simple steps:
Reach out for social support. This can be people whom you trust and whom truly cares about you, such as family and best buddies. It can also be a community social support group.
Know your boundaries and when to unplug. Now this is easier said then done and you may need social support to help you define your limits and keep a lookout for you.
Give yourself a break. Engage in activities that help you relax such as meditation, exercises, listing to music or even a short vacation. Make sure you prioritise sleep and have enough rest too.
If the above doesn't work out well, then it may be timely for you to seek a mental health professional.
