My truck is a 94 Mazda B3000, my pickup. This pickup did have some small tie downs on it, but I did like it so I attached these black fold away rope hooks.
The are the black object on the side of the pickup bed.
Here is a closer look.
You see those fold away T like hooks that fold up and when not in use they just fold downward.
I like the T like form of the rope hooks as I can easily do my trucker knot on these. I choose the black color as it clashes with the white paint of the truck. I think it does give the truck a good look.
Of course it would be valuable to have these fold away rope hooks as you would need to have a load driven to the dumps all tarped and tied down or the cost is double what it would have cost if the load was tarped and tied down.
Sometimes I do see pickup trucks with black bags thrown into the bed of the truck, but they were not tied down. Well the wind can lift up the bags and can go into the road.
One time I was on the freeway and a truck was ahead of me, and a bag of blankets fell out of the truck and I ran over the bag and then there was a blanket that was caught under my 89 Nissan Sentra, the car I was driving at the time, and the blanket was waving after me.
Eventually the blanket was detached from under my car. I hope the blanket didn't trouble other drivers from behind me at the time.
So it is always good to tarp and tie down any loads that your pickup is hauling, and of course to do that you need to attach rope hooks of some kind, so that you can tie down the load.
There are other type of rope hooks, but this style I do like a lot and will always want this type of rope hooks on my pickups.
To attach them I did have to drill four holes per rope hook. So with the help of a measuring tape and a lead pencil, I did try to keep these hooks somewhat straight. I think they look pretty straight, to a point that is.
I used a 1/8 inch cobalt drill bit. I think those cobalt drill bits work good at drilling hole in the side of my 94 Mazda B3000 pickup.
I had a previous truck that I also attached these rope hooks, that was my 91 Chevy S10 pickup. The 91 Chevy S10 served me well from 2014 to 2023, but alas that truck died on me and I didn't want to fix it as it just had too many miles on it and parts were hard to find. The 91 Chevy S10 pickup had over 600,000 miles on it when it died.
And now I have this 94 Mazda B3000 pickup, with only about 207,000 miles on it currently. So hopefully I will have this truck for some time to come, God willing.
Let's end with some scripture, as it is written, with Jesus speaking, Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:29-30.
