My wife and I decided to start eating healthy. No unnecessary fats, lots of vegetables and fruit.
During one lunch, we were all sitting at the table.
We looked at each other… and then at the plate full of carrots.
Anja and Aca were already arguing over one carrot—whose it was.
So I decided to stop it with one sentence:
“Let’s have a contest—who can eat more carrots!
Challenge accepted.
Instead of noise, suddenly there was only crunching and chewing.
The peeled carrots, originally meant for soup, became our competition.
Mumbling could be heard between bites:
“I ate one,” I said.
“I ate two!” Anja replied.
“I’m the best, I’m eating my third!” my wife added.
And me?
I tried to eat four at the same time… just to keep up.
Total chaos.Pure relaxation.Complete madness.
At one point, we even pretended to be rabbits—holding “ears” for each other with two fingers behind the head.
In the end, Aca won.He earned a big scoop of chocolate ice cream.
And then… we all attacked the rest of the package.
This time, healthy food had to wait a little.Because moments like this can’t be planned. They happen spontaneously, straight from the heart.
And to truly understand what’s good in life, sometimes we need to taste what isn’t.
The choice is always ours.
This time, we chose carrots—
and the reward came unexpectedly… from the heart.
