Today I decided to leave the world aside, not to hear a single tone of the electronic world. Right after school, I went for a walk to the nearby park, leaving all my tasks just fifteen minutes aside, and took a deep breath of fresh air. Every thought flowed slowly; I didn’t lose a single one in the rush of notifications.
For a moment, near the end of the walk, my gaze stopped at the Milenium sports hall above the stadium, at the edge of the park, where on Thursday the school girls’ football championship for the best team in the region will take place. I thought—can we make it to the finals in Belgrade?
Then I turned my head and saw a little girl on the playground kicking at a goal made of two stones, scoring, and the ball rolled to my feet across the grass. A sign or a coincidence, we’ll see.Until then, I’ll enjoy the birds singing, the green grass, and the first scents of spring slowly, shyly arriving.
Writing comes only from within, as if the words grow out of the silence. Without screens, without monitor light, I feel how much feelings and sight matter more than messages and signals. Silence is my companion, and the pen is a friend who knows all my unspoken things.
