A picture is worth a thousand words
In this contest, we're expected to interpret the picture below on the following headings.
- what you see
- What you feel
- Story about it.
what I see
A boy peeping through a barbwire. He seems to enjoy watching whatever is on the other end from where he is standing. Behind him is a town that looks blurry but the buildings seem to be that of a local settlement.
What I feel
I feel the other end from where the boy is standing is a no-go zone, probably a military cantonment, and that the boy finds it interesting to come to watch from that position the activities that are done there. I also feel he comes from a poor family and may not have afforded to have the life he wanted.
Story
Williams was just 5 when he started to have an interest in joining the military. Though his father had wished one of his sons will become a soldier, he was financially incapable to sponsor any.
"When things get better, I will enroll you in one of the NDA schools in the country" the father will say each time Williams brought up the topic.
Williams goes to watch the military in their training ground every morning. Sometimes he stands for hours hanging his hands on a barbwire as he peeps through the space. One thing he had held strongly to is a word from his father which says, "whatever you believe, you will accomplish". He believed his background wasn't a hindrance as long as he was determined. A few years later, Williams was sponsored into NDA school when one of the militaries noticed his constant visit.
