Elegant fall
The first time I heard the phrase "elegant drape" was at a company that manufactured secretarial uniforms. I worked there as a process manager, so I had the opportunity to talk with the heads of all the departments, from the pattern maker to the sewers, the fabric cutters, the ironers, and of course, the saleswomen who were also responsible for taking measurements.
On one occasion, one of them said, "That fabric really does have an elegant drape." The style of dress or blouse made with this fabric is supposed to flatter the figure, as it's the fabric that gives it shape.

Caída elegante
La primera vez que oí la frase caída elegante fue en una empresa que se dedicaba a fabricar uniformes secretariales. Ahí trabajaba como gerente de procesos por lo que tuve la oportunidad de platicar con los jefes de todos los departamentos, desde la persona que hacía los patrones, las personas que cosían, cortaban la tela, las que planchaban las prendas y por supuesto también a las chicas de ventas quienes también se encargaban de tomar las medidas.
En una ocasión una de ellas dijo: "esa tela sí que tiene una caída elegante" se supone que el estilo del vestido o de la blusa qué está hecho con esta tela permite lucir más la figura pues es la que termina dándole forma.
