We welcomed Drumming Sounds Retreats at Woodenbridge yesterday by painting the famed rock on Kalama River Rd with their sacred symbol.
Originally we were gonna choose grey as a backdrop with red and white lines, but we had so much red paint we thought, why not?
And the color red. It holds so much significance. The mother. The blood. The fire. The life force.
People stopped and asked us questions, but no one seemed to mind.
There's a woman on the road who's been painting the rock for years with different sayings and images.
It felt like a way to include our local river community in what was happening here at Woodenbridge.
And to welcome our guests of honor as they arrived here.
Always the biggest shoutout to Morgan Paige aka for being up for the artistic adventure.
Every day I just love this human more and more. She welcomes large and important energies with grace and humor. I'm learning so much.
And healing. With the land.
And it's dope because I've had a lot of alone time in nature to reflect and self regulate and also theres an amazing community of visitors that come and i get to socialize and coregulate with.
And anyone that's willing to travel down the winding round and come across two drawbridges and switchbacks to campout and enjoy being with land are my kinda people.
Anyways, as I write almost everyone has arrived.
Our fire ceremony went beautifully.
First fire in the pit but certainly not the last <3
