If I were told that I would venture into farming about 2 years ago, I would doubt and even say I don't think so. I remember a particular period while doing my 8-5 pm Job, I was just paid a salary, but I had barely anything to survive on for the next month. This was because I had previously borrowed, and immediately I was paid, I had to pay off my loans. I was at my lowest, and I remember that I even cried at some point.
A friend of mine tried to comfort me by telling me that it would get better as long as I didn't give up. Those words kept echoing in my head, and I had to decide, as it was my call to action. I had to ask myself some deep personal questions, and I eventually realized that I cannot depend on a salary; it should be used to support one’s own business.
So I started saving up and eventually got enough funds to go for training. I am currently a catfish breeder and still using my 8-5 pm salary to support my business until it’s able to stand on its own, by God’s grace.
