Initially, while working hybrid, I would still need to wake up early, sometimes prepare what to eat, and commute. All these tasks had become a routine for me, and I did not realize how much they served as exercise until I had some of them. Commuting alone is a great form of exercise because I have to wake up early, walk some distance, and sometimes struggle to board a bus, then I have to repeat the same process after work.
When I had noticed the effect of missing these exercises in my body as a remote worker, I decided to enroll in a gym. This was not an easy decision, but I was glad I did, as I was beginning to feel lazy due to the constant sitting. I was experiencing back and spine issues, maybe because of my chair, which was not made to be used as an office chair. However, all this was corrected when I started the gym as I had different routines for back, leg, chest, and hand.
One thing I would like to let you know is that the gym is a healthy addiction; as such, there are always consequences when you decide to stop. I had experienced this firsthand when I stopped for a while due to a personal issue I needed to attend to. This period was like a withdrawal period for me as an addict, and I felt miserable as all my joints hurt, and the only way to resolve it was by going back to the gym. However, my advice for everyone is that we need to exercise irrespective of what our individual lives might look like.
