"It's a bit bewildering," he said, blinking in the bright light.
"I know," the Voice said. "Don't worry. You don't have to worry any longer."
He stood still. His heart was beating fast but he felt suddenly calm. He took a deep breath and took a step forward. As he did so he felt a relief and a sensation somewhere in between slipping into a warm bath and a hug from a loved one.
"I haven't felt like this in such a long time," he whispered. He felt the smile of the Voice before she spoke.
"It's going to be alright," the Voice said. "Everything is going to be fine now."
He took another step and as he did so he felt a small hand slip into his. He looked down.
She was looking up at him, joy in her face beaming at him, almost as bright as the light ahead.
"You are going to be happy," she said.
