I wrote this Freewrite using a prompt from a Random word generator.

"You must look your best," his mother said, brushing his hair and then standing back to look at him. She licked her hand and used it to dampen down a rogue hair and then nodded. "That's better. We can't have the King thinking you don't know how to brush your hair, can we?"
Kip grimaced. He had no interest in meeting the King, or any other member of the Royal household for that matter. They were parasites, taking taxes and life force from hard-working people like himself.
At least that's what Hopper said.
"I don't even know why the King wants to see me," he said.
"It doesn't matter why," his mother said. "It just matters that you are going to meet him."
Kip said nothing. There was no point in arguing with his mother. He always lost.
"Now don't forget to bow, properly," his mother said.
Kip nodded. He hoped Hopper wasn't there to see him bowing and scraping to the Royal-Layabout-in-Chief (as Hopper called the King).
