“Whatever, just do it so I don’t have to worry about getting a stray laser in the side,” Larry said shaking his tentacles.
“I need somewhere safe to practice then. I can’t just go shooting this around the yard, I need a spot that that will be out of the way. Maybe we could find a gopher hole to go down in, test out your night vision and my laser?” Gary offered.
“That could work. Then we wouldn’t have to wait till tonight to go try these things out. Maybe we’ll get lucky and you’ll get us dinner,” Larry said with a raise of an eye.
“Like you said I need practice, so we’ll see. I’ll be happy if I can hit a target I am aiming for, no matter what it is.”
Larry suddenly had the thought pop into his mind, the memory of finding the instructions for the laser in his searching. “Hey, I have the instructions for the laser. I just remembered that I found them and I meant to give them to you. I should have put them on the pda before I gave it to you,” he said as he shook his tentacles in annoyance.
Gary tilted his head to the side in slight surprise then said, “that’s good, I was not looking forward to figuring this thing out on my own.”
Larry went to his pda and quickly found the file and opened it. He scrolled to the contents and let Gary read it saying, “see, it should answer your questions and likely has a full break down of it. I wish I had a way to get it to you but you haven’t setup an email or anything yet. I wiped the pda but you need to set it up before I can message you.”
Gary sat behind Larry reading over him and he finally gave up from not being able to see well enough and said, “I’ll get it setup and get you the address to send it. I’m going to go find a some food before we go wander looking for a hole.”
Larry turned to reply when he heard the sound of steps outside approaching the nook. He glanced at Gary with eyes wide and then motioned to the entrance. He quickly made his way towards it when he heard Dru’s voice ask if he was there. He stuck his head out of the entrance to his nook and looked around, seeing Dru overhead immediately he slugged the rest of the way out of the nook. Gary followed closely behind him and soon they were both sitting outside his nook at the base of the rock.
“Oh good, you are around,” Dru said as he watched Larry emerge from his nook. When Gary emerged he became a bit unsure and said, “as long as that is you. I haven’t looked that close before to know the difference yet.”
Larry looked to Gary then back at Dru and his tentacles drew together in annoyance. “I wish I could bite him right now,” he said under his breath, just loud enough for Gary to hear, who turned and looked sharply at him.
Larry turned to Gary and said, “don’t judge me for the way that I cope with things. You have your own ways and I have mine. Just accept that and move on. In fact you could move on to helping me figure out a way to get him more on board,” as he motioned towards Dru who stood watching their interaction.
