If you see the shark smile and don't harpoon it or get the fuck out, you're as good as dead.
Be Wary of a Shark SMile
That could be a maxim from some fishermen village wisdom or just a commonsensical advice. I honestly think the world would be better off without sharks. I find them powerfully terrifying creatures.
Sharks have found a way to rule the seven seas, evolve, and adapt without losing their charm. They keep their possition on the top of the foodchain. They know they will always have protectors, allies, scared prey. They have actually extended their power and terrifying looks to mainland, where they have thrived and solidified their power.
Every new shark generation is more reckless. It should be easier to spot them and yet, they manage to get close enough to show their teeth and wreck havock. Their strength is not intrinsic to their nature. Like any other fish, they'd be dead out of the water or if confronted with equal or superior force.
Those who defend the right of sharks to exist do so because they have never been bitten by one. They don't know what it means to see life slip away between their teeth while the audience holds the harpoons and smile back.
