Watch them Prepare your Refreshing Drink
Long time ago I learned the hard way to avoid buying any food or drink they sell here in these streets. One wants to support entrepreneurship; it is great that legally speaking it’s relatively easy for anyone to become an entrepreneur.
However, to teach these businesspeople about basic customer service and food management is a challenging business in itself. Of course, in a society marked by poverty and improvisation, people develop a certain indifference to the “hows”. They learned to be thankful for the “whats”, the “wheres”, and the “whens”. They repeat maxims like “what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.”
The problem is that drinking juices prepared with ice that has been in contact with all kinds of pollutants can actually kill you. One just needs to watch the whole process to decide never again to buy from the conveniently available and cheap street vendors.
