It's the end of the week and its laundry day. Maria gathered all the laundry from the laundry basket packed them into a large tote bag and headed towards the laundromat.
Just as she arrived, she was stunned by the huge crowd. Every single washing machine in the laundromat was occupied, so Maria sat on the long bench to wait for her turn. After a good 20mins, finally there is an available washing machine. She opened her laundry bag and loaded the contents into the washing machine. Just when she was about to close washing machine door, an old lady with a bag of soiled clothes stopped her and ask if she was able to hitch a wash on Maria's current load. Maria gave it a thought and agreed to her request. She added the 5 pieces of clothing into her load and closed the washing machine door to start the washing.
Suddenly a well dressed woman appeared in front of her and called out, "Congratulations, you are the only one whom have shown kindness to the old lady which is planted by us. For this you are rewarded a $50 shopping voucher."
A simple act of kindness goes a long way.
