I once entered a man's compund and to my amazement, the fleet of cars i saw was just shocking.
I had to comport myself so i could be able to do what i went there to do.
Honestly speaking it was really clear the man had looted some public funds. Assessing from his monthly pay and financial capacity, there was no way he could have purchased all the cars he had.
I also observed there were cars he didn't use for months. They became dusty and some had flat tires.
As much as i am not against anybody buying properties and whatever for himself, i feel there should be some form of moderation and ofcourse, checks and balances especially for people in position of authority and politicians who manage and control public funds.
It's morally wrong to live in affluence, spending so much in purchasing fleet of luxurious cars from the common patrimony, when a vast majority of people are living in abject poverty, cannot even have access to basic social amenities,
If not for corruption greed and lack of proper enforcement of laws, such people would have been probed thoroughly.
I know that as a public servant, one is supposed to declare his assets to the government for the purpose of integrity and accountability.
We need to do better.
Thank you for reading. I am
