Those moments when you don't want to be in one place, but you must be, out of necessity or commitment. It's happened to me, and it's probably happened to you, too. We must comply with social norms, not to get into conflicts with some people, not to pass as rude.
But isn't it worse to be out of commitment? It's a hypocrisy appreciated by most, as long as it remains hidden but criticized if "discovered". It's a paradox, but that's the way we are, that's the way society usually behaves. And if we do not respond to their demands, well, we can seem asocial... that things.
For my part, having this clear, I comply with some social patterns but always knowing that they are that, patterns that people like - even if I criticize them - and I am still me, but complacent.
