Cuando Juan vuelve a casa tiene miedo de contagiar a su hermosa familia, los abrazos y los besos toman distanciamiento y la comida se sirve fría ya que la hora de comer ha pasado desde hace horas. Juan decide sacar su tienda de campaña al patio trasero para así dormir allí y proteger a su familia, solo su esposa se acerca para ofrecerle agua y comida, se despiden con un beso en la frente y un “te amo, esto pasará muy pronto”. El siguiente día puede volver al hospital, ayudar a combatir la enfermedad y no tener que preocuparse por que su familia se contagie con el mortal virus.
Así transcurren los días, los pacientes entran en camilla y muchos salen dentro de un ataúd, por suerte para Juan parece que su sistema inmune rechaza al virus de manera efectiva, sin embargo una tarde mientras recibía a los pacientes observa que unos enfermeros se le acerca con un expresando una clara preocupación y con un nudo en la garganta le dice a Juan que su esposa acaban de ingresar a la zona de cuidados intensivos, a los pocos minutos muere
Juan a pesar de su terrible perdida este sigue haciendo realizando su duro trabajo, el salvar vidas aunque los pacientes no sepan el gran sacrificio de Juan y en muchos casos no logren aprender el nombre del médico que les salvo la vida; él sigue ayudando a todos y cada uno de los que por la sala de emergencia ingresa.
