For the ZAPFIC50 Friday challenge this week, the prompt "fisherman" conjured up memories of my childhood. Weekends were filled with fishing trips to a nearby city dike. How much fun my family enjoyed on those outings. However, we were caught in inclement weather numerous times. We were always in proximity of shelter with no danger. My story is below:
Two days at dusk Marcus leaned against the wooden pier, hands clasped, praying.
Beyond the buoys, moonlight reflecting on water revealed only white-capped waves.
"Any sign?" his mother's voice crackled behind him.
"Father 's an expert fisherman. Experienced in any storm."
Later, she telephoned Coast Guard rescuers, reporting him missing.

Durante dos días, al atardecer, Marcus se apoyaba contra el muelle de madera, con las manos juntas, rezando.
