Then start collecting evidences against your thoughts. The world does not always need grand gestures.Sometimes, it just needs small lights in many places. And maybe, if each of us decides to become a small lamp in our own way, the darkness around us will slowly begin to disappear.
A mind free from unnecessary clutter possesses immeasurable power. It sees solutions, while others see problems. It moves forward in life instead of struggling. It will not get caught in the same cycles of suffering but will flow like a river, always fresh, always new. But clarity is not something you acquire once and keep forever. It must be cultivated daily.Just as you cleanse your body, you must cleanse your mind.
Every year, when the air becomes a little cooler and the evenings start feeling calm,I find myself returning to this place again. It has almost become a personal ritual. The scene may look simple to many people passing by but for me it carries a deep sense of history, culture and quiet reflection.
In front of me are stacks of clay lamps that are small, humble and beautifully imperfect. Some are new, some are already darkened by fire. A few of them are burning gently and their small flames dancing in the evening breeze.
Beside them is a bottle of oil, waiting to give life to more lamps. The smell of oil mixed with the earthy scent of clay creates an atmosphere that feels strangely peaceful. These clay lamps are not just objects. They are part of a tradition that has existed for centuries across the subcontinent. My city is a historical place and is almost 4000 years old.Long before electricity lit up our cities, these small lamps were the light of homes, streets and sacred places. They symbolized hope, guidance and warmth.
Even today, despite all the technology around us,their meaning has not faded.Whenever I stand here and watch these flames,I often think about how such a small light can push away darkness.A single lamp may not seem powerful but when many lamps burn together, the whole space becomes bright. Maybe this is why our ancestors valued these lamps so much. They quietly remind us that even the smallest act of goodness can create a big difference.
People pass by while I am standing here in devotion. Some walking quickly, some are talking, some lost in their own thoughts. Most of them probably do not notice these lamps at all.But every year, I stop here for a few moments. I myself light a lamp, watch the flame for a while and think about life.
For me, this visit is not just about tradition. It is about connection with the history, with our culture and with our society. These simple clay lamps carry stories of generations before us. They remind us that our roots are deep and meaningful.
At the same time, they carry a message for today’s society. We live in a time where people are often busy, impatient and sometimes disconnected from one another. But the lesson of these lamps is simple that is to be a source of light for others.Just like these small flames,a little kindness, patience or honesty can brighten someone’s day.Every year when I come here,I leave with this same thought in my mind.
I believe when our mind is filled with unnecessary noise, we can't perceive reality as it truly is. Instead,we see things through the filter of our past experiences, opinions and biases, distorting everything.
Therefore,we must dedicate time each day to cleaning the mirror of your mind.Observe out thoughts without becoming entangled in them. The moment we begin observing your thoughts, rather than identifying with them, we create a distance between ourselves and them. That distance is freedom. And the more we practice this, the more we will benefit.
