Esta semana el reto es con la palabra MENTIRA
Aquí mi relato que titulé:
La mentira fue el aliciente de Javier.
Javier Iturriza es un estudiante de secundaria. No le va muy bien en los estudios. Las notas son deficientes en algunas materias. Está al cuidado de su abuela, Manuela Benítez. Ella es una aficionada a ver videos por youtube. Allí todos los días observa sus canales favoritos de música y manualidades. Manuela es autodidacta, realiza espectaculares bolsos de tela que, todo el mundo alaba.
Manuela no sabe qué hacer con su nieto. Se le ocurren algunas ideas pero, tiene miedo de decírselo a su hija, Margarita. Ella es muy estricta con Javier. Le exige que las notas sean superiores al promedio, de sus compañeros, de clase. De repente se recuerda que, Javier, siempre la entusiasmaba a que tuviera su propio canal en youtube…….Desde hace días le resuena, en su mente, la insistencia de Javier. Pareciese que lo estuviese escuchando:
-Abuela, sí puedes. Atrévete. Yo te ayudo. Acuérdate que subir videos, a internet, es mi pasión. Tú solo tendrías que hablar para dar las indicaciones de lo que haces…..
Javier tenía desde hacía un mes visitas semanales al sicólogo, Pedro Echenique. El mismo le había recomendado varias técnicas de estudio. No le conseguía nada raro en su conducta, salvo que no se entusiasmaba con nada. El sicólogo lo siguió tratando por tres meses consecutivos. Margarita no observó ningún cambio en su hijo. Por lo que decide suspender ese gasto extra porque, estaba mermando su presupuesto familiar. Se le ocurre trazar un plan pero, para ello, tendría que decir alguna mentirilla piadosa……..Estuvo cavilando y se le ocurrió, que le diría a su madre, que tendría una reunión de trabajo inesperada. No quería preocuparla.
Esperó un mes, luego de trazar su plan, para ir a visitar a Pedro…..
-Mamá, hoy voy a llegar tarde. No me esperes para el almuerzo. Tenemos una reunión de trabajo, nos incluyen el almuerzo para no perder tiempo. Ve a buscar a Javier al colegio y coman ustedes. Nos vemos por la noche.-
-Está bien hija, no te preocupes. Te esperamos para la cena.-
Margarita le da un beso de despedida a su madre y, sale para el consultorio de Pedro. Al llegar, Pedro se sorprende y dice:
-Buenas tardes Señora Margarita. ¿Ocurrió algo?-
-No, Pedro. Simplemente tengo que suspender las visitas de mi hijo. Es solo temporalmente. Después continuaremos con las orientaciones. Es que se me presentó un gasto extra. Tengo que llevar a mi madre al médico y, requiero el dinero para la consulta y para las medicinas.- responde Margarita.
-No se preocupe. Vaya tranquila. Seguimos en contacto- acota Pedro.
Margarita sale del consultorio con remordimiento. Piensa…..no debí decir eso. Mi madre goza de una excelente salud…..
Mientras….. esa tarde Javier y Manuela aprovecharon de realizar, su primer video, para youtube. Mantendrían ese secreto durante un mes…..
Pasó el tiempo……Javier inexplicablemente mejoró las notas. Pasó a ser el mejor estudiante de su clase. Margarita al ver ese cambio decidió festejarlo en casa.
Era domingo. Había comprado una torta de chocolate, la preferida por su hijo.....
Cuando estaba picándola Javier le comenta:
-Mamá, tengo que confesarte algo…. -
Margarita se asusta:
-¿Qué pasa?-
-Nunca me preguntaste cual fue el motivo por el cual mejoré mis notas. Te explico…. mi abuela y yo estuvimos haciendo videos. Los publicamos por internet. El canal se llama “Tejiendo con Manuela”. - indica Javier
Antes que Margarita hablara Javier continúa y, muestra el canal, al mismo tiempo que le entrega un regalo, a su madre, explicándole:
-Tenemos muchos seguidores y con el dinero, que obtuvimos, quisimos hacerte un regalo.-
Todos se abrazan y festejan la mentira…….que resultó ser el aliciente de Javier.

This week the challenge is with the word LIE.
Here is my story that I titled:
The lie was Javier's incentive.
Javier Iturriza is a high school student. He is not doing very well in his studies. His grades are poor in some subjects. He is in the care of his grandmother, Manuela Benítez. She is a fan of watching videos on youtube. There every day she watches her favorite music and handicraft channels. Manuela is self-taught, she makes spectacular fabric bags that everyone praises.
Manuela doesn't know what to do with her grandson. She comes up with some ideas but is afraid to tell her daughter, Margarita. She is very strict with Javier. She demands that his grades be above the average of his classmates. Suddenly she remembers that Javier always encouraged her to have her own youtube channel........ For days now Javier's insistence has been echoing in her mind. It seems as if she was listening to him:
-Grandma, yes you can. Dare. I'll help you. Remember that uploading videos to the Internet is my passion. You would only have to talk to give the indications of what you do.....
For the past month, Javier had been seeing a psychologist, Pedro Echenique, on a weekly basis. He had recommended several study techniques. He did not get anything unusual in his behavior, except that he was not enthusiastic about anything. The psychologist continued to treat him for three consecutive months. Margarita did not observe any change in her son. So she decided to suspend this extra expense because it was depleting her family's budget. She came up with a plan, but to do so, she would have to tell a little white lie........ She thought about it and it occurred to her that she would tell her mother that she would have an unexpected work meeting. She didn't want to worry her.
She waited a month, after drawing up his plan, to visit Pedro......
-Mom, I'm going to be late today. Don't expect me for lunch. We have a work meeting, include lunch so we don't waste time. Go pick Javier up from school and eat your lunch. See you in the evening.
-It's okay daughter, don't worry. We'll wait for you for dinner.
Margarita kisses her mother goodbye and leaves for Pedro's office. When Pedro arrives, he is surprised and says:
-Good afternoon, Mrs. Margarita. Did something happen?
-No, Pedro. I simply have to suspend my son's visits. It is only temporary. Then we will continue with the orientations. It's just that an extra expense came up. I have to take my mother to the doctor and I need the money for the consultation and the medicines.
-Don't worry. Don't worry, don't worry. We'll keep in touch,- says Pedro.
Margarita leaves the office with remorse. Think ..... I shouldn't have said that. My mother is in excellent health.....
While..... that afternoon Javier and Manuela took the opportunity to make their first video for youtube. They would keep that secret for a month.....
Time went by......Javier inexplicably improved his grades. He became the best student in his class. Margarita saw this change and decided to celebrate at home.
It was Sunday. She had bought a chocolate cake, her son's favorite......
When she was eating it, Javier told her:
-Mom, I have something to confess to you.... -
Margarita was startled:
-What is it?-
-You never asked me why I improved my grades. I'll explain.... my grandmother and I have been making videos. We posted them on the internet. The channel is called "Tejiendo con Manuela". - says Javier
Before Margarita speaks, Javier continues and shows the channel, at the same time that he gives a gift to his mother, explaining to her:
-We have a lot of followers and with the money we got, we wanted to give you a gift.
They all hug and celebrate the lie....... which turned out to be Javier's incentive.
