Hazy snow mist obscured our visions but we heard the captain's voice loud and clear.
"On guard, soldiers!"
Teeth gritted against the frost, our hands tight on spears, we stood in a formation outside the castle gate ready to advance against creatures of Farrington forest.
We must protect our Queen.
