“I have never tried ginger tea, it is so kind of you to offer to make it for me, Mrs. Jenkins,” Lola said while her eye was following the cup of ginger tea heading towards her.
“Wow, it's delicious, no doubt you know how to make it,” Lola said with a happy smile on her face.
“It's actually a family recipe. My grandfather taught me how to make it!” Mrs. Jenkins said. “In fact, he taught me how to make teas that heal diseases, and they are all secret recipes.”
"Oh, I see! Good thing you learned them,” Lola said.
“Now, Lola, I wanted to ask you something, did the new treatments work for your mother's cancer?” Mrs. Jenkins asked worried and curious.
As Lola was sipping her ginger tea, replied, “Oh, yes, she is doing chemotherapy now and those bad cells are getting destroyed, hopefully. The progress is good.”
“Tell your mom, I have a remedy for her!” Mrs. Jenkins said, excited.
“What is the remedy?” Lola asked, putting the tea cup, which was empty, on the table.
“Oh, it's a family recipe, it has ginger in it, it's good for cancer!” Mrs. Jenkins said.
“Oh, No, thanks, herbal based treatments should not be done along with chemical treatments!” Lola said.
“Oh, I see!” Mrs. Jenkins said.
