Greetings readers

This has been a long week and honestly, I think I need a long weekend to get over all the work I have been doing. Too many projects at the same time.

Anyway, as I promised, today is the #nsfw episode, so if you're not interested in reading it, you can pretty much skip the update, in which case, I'll see you on Tuesday. If interesting, enjoy the update.

“You are still okay with this?” he asked as he looked down at her.

“I am, stop asking, you’re making me nervous.”

“Turn round, let me wash your back.”

The human turned her back on him and handed the soap and scrub cloth to the Saith. Bolx started with washing her back until she raised her right arm and said softly, “Continue.”

She allowed him to wash most of her while she stood still, as if too afraid to say or do anything. As Bolx was about to get uncomfortable, she asked, “Can I wash your hair?”

“Whatever for?”

“It’s a lovely colour, and I want to.”

“I’ll have to kneel.”

“Exactly.”

He chuckled and knelt. He closed his eyes to prevent any soap from going into them, or that was what he told himself. He was worried he wouldn’t be able to tear his eyes away from what stood before him. He hadn’t had anyone wash his hair since he was a boy, and it was a nice experience, much nicer than when he normally jumped through a shower.

Instead of thinking, he grabbed onto her hips and looked up at her, hoping for a smile, but instead, she had a malicious grin on her face. One he had often seen on Kaiden’s face.

“What?” he asked, grateful that she was shielding him from the spraying water.

“Like what you see?”

“From this vantage point, yes.”

“What if I came down to your level?”

The next thing he knew, he had a pair of arms around his neck and Saita straddling his lap. He had not expected that and nearly fell back into the back of the shower. He had to steady himself with one hand against the wall. Before he could even bounce back, the human kissed him, taking his breath away. This time, his hands weren’t on her hips but had slipped around the back of her legs.

“What? Cat got your tongue.” Said Saita as she pulled away.

“More like the cat’s tongue was taken. Now that’s what I expected from a first kiss! Where has this Saita been hiding?”

“Hey! You gave as much as you got!”

“I wouldn’t mind getting more if you’re in such a giving mood.”

“What do you want?” she whispered.

“Everything you’re willing to give me.” Was his instant reply.

“Then likely we should finish with the shower and move this…”

“Do you want to move?” he whispered as he pulled her closer.

“Not worried about anyone hearing us?”

“I don’t care. My blood is on fire right now.”

“You know I haven’t…”

“Then let me teach you.”

He shifted his position so that he was sitting and allowed her to continue straddling him. Once his knees weren’t digging into the tiles below, he pulled the human closer to him to return the kiss she had given him. He felt her tense at being pulled down onto him, but there wasn’t any other resistance, and what gasp he had expected was caught within their kiss.

The sting on his back reminded him where Saita’s fingers were, and he was sure they would just add to the other scars from previous scratches. He could almost chuckle at the hilarity of the situation as the soap ran into his eyes.

“Sorry, didn’t think this through.”

Saita tried to pull away, but Bolx kept her in place and said, “Stay in the moment, it’s just soap.”

“You sure?”

“I’ve been in far worse positions. It doesn’t hurt, does it?”

“Your sister warned me, I knew what to expect.”

“You’ve been planning this for a while, haven’t you?”

“You stay in the moment.” She chided him.

He grabbed her hips and forced her further down onto him. She hissed at him but didn’t allow much else to come from her. He had no idea how long they were in the shower together, but eventually, the bite he knew was coming happened and while her teeth cut into the base of his neck and shoulder, he rode the pain out, enjoying being with the woman he had come to fall in love with these last few years.

Then, as she released him, he heard her whisper, “I love you.”

His heart stopped for a second, and he almost vomited with the visceral response of hearing the final words that Kaiden had left him with before banishing him to this timeline. She had never used those words in the four years that they had been together, and it was on their final day together that she had finally said them.

The tears flowed, and he tried to not sob, but Saita caught on quickly. Remaining where she was, she wrapped her arms around his head and hugged him to her chest.

“I tried to hold onto those words, knowing how deeply they could hurt you.” She whispered. “But I needed to say them.”

Try as he might, he couldn’t stop the tears and every time he wanted to apologise, nothing but sobs came from his mouth. Saita was patient, refusing to release him as emotions he had spent too many years holding onto finally were released.

“I always knew I would have to compete with the love you had for her. I understand.” She whispered once his sobs had subsided.

“It’s not fair to you.” He whispered.

“And how has your life ever been fair to you? Accept that I accept this moving forward. I’m going to get up now.”

She released him, and he allowed his arms to fall to his sides. He wiped at his eyes, trying to get his emotions under control.

“Let’s finish up here and go to bed. It’s been a long day.” Saita held a hand out to him.

The Saith took her hand and allowed her to pull him to his feet.

“You don’t have to say it back until you’re ready.” Said the human after they had stood in silence for a while. “No pressure.”

Bolx lowered his head to put his forehead to hers as he had often seen her do with her son. He didn’t know why she liked this kind of affection but had always seen a smile on her face when she did it. This was unique to her.

“Thank you.”

“Come on, I’m sure it takes a while to dry a tail.” She turned to shut the water off and open the door.

She stepped out and reached for a towel to hand to him. Bolx, almost embarrassed at how he had reacted to three words, couldn’t bring himself to look at Saita. He had been so sure he could separate his past and the present. He let his mind wander as he dried his body before starting on his hair. He stepped from the shower as he was drying his tail when Saita offered, “I have a hairdryer somewhere. I never use it.”

“It’s okay, it’ll dry soon enough.”

“Bolx, do you regret what we did?” asked Saita after some time of silence.
The Saith looked at the concerned human and shook his head, “Not at all. Thank you for trusting me enough to teach you. I’m sorry I couldn’t keep my feelings separate.”

“Nonsense. Didn’t you say it was okay to feel? It goes both ways.” She held a hand out to him. “Come on.”

He hastily hung up his towel before she grabbed his hand and pulled him from the bathroom. She turned the bathroom light out and turned to the bed, “Do you have a preferred side?”

“None, as a soldier, you sleep when and where you can.”

“I’ll be on the left then.”

She moved toward the door and gave the key a turn before half chuckling, “Sometimes Aidan likes to crawl into the covers, I’d prefer him not to tomorrow.”

Tired, physically and emotionally, Bolx climbed between the covers as Saita turned out the lights before climbing into bed herself. They lay in silence for a while before Saita asked, “Where do you see this going?”

Bolx had wondered that himself. He rolled and propped himself up before saying, “I am happy to remain like this. I’ll move in with you if you want, and I am sure I can make arrangements to stay with you once you return to the humans.”

“I meant more than that.”

“You mean marriage?”

“You are a Royal Guard. I didn’t forget that you must have children. If that is a prerequisite, then you know that I cannot give you what you need.”

Bolx had had some time to think about this since she had brought it up years ago when he told her who he was. He pulled her close and said, “I am not a Royal Guard in this timeline, Saita. I am not required under any laws to produce a child for the crown.”

As he wrapped his arms around her, he continued, “And if we get bugged about it, I will just name Aidan an heir to my name. There are no laws saying I cannot adopt a child to carry on a family name.”

“I don’t think Astec would agree to that.”

“The point is you are enough for me.” He whispered.

Never in Saita’s life had she been told she was enough. From a young age, everyone around her had tried to change her in some way, but never Bolx. The relief of not having to be anything more or less than what she was at this moment made the human tear up and clutch at the arms surrounding her.

“Thank you.” She whispered, trying to keep the emotion out of her voice.

The Saith didn’t answer back, and with the steady breathing to the back of her neck, she knew why. It had been a long day, ending in some heavy emotions. Sleep would be good, but it didn’t come easy that night.
