On those days when overwhelm and uncertainty come to visit me,
that little phrase becomes a refuge:
"There is always hope."
It reminds me that all is not lost,
that even in the midst of what I don't understand,
there is someone holding me up,
I breathe, and I keep going.
Without giving up,
trusting that, somehow,
everything will fall into place.
Calm will return,
the desire,
and I will continue to flourish.
