I have always said, still saying, and will be saying that social media platforms are full of fake things. People try to be something that is not their actual identity; they try to hide their dark side and present an opposite side of the coin. Hiding the negative ones isn't bad, but presenting the opposite fake ones to appear good before others, is what bugs me the most. I, myself stopped believing everything I saw there. Still, there are a few people whom I admire a lot, their works and their personality.
There is a retired govt employee; he was in a good position in his work life, but now he is retired and working in a private place with the same efforts and honesty. On his social media, he writes about various things, raises his voice against many unethical works, and has shown how honest and truthful he is against the corruption and unethical activities in his knowledge around him. He doesn't care about any unfortunate outcome; he just sticks to the truth and protests from his position as much as he can. I have always said that we need a lot more like him to change things in a broader picture. Otherwise, honest people like him will be thrown away pretty easily. He had to go through a lot of fuss too, but he is still standing straight. That's a personality I found and admire through social media.
Another one is a big brother from my city whom I got to follow through Facebook; he has businesses; he started at one point and now has multiple sources of income; the way he developed and progressed is amazing. I have always admired his unique way of thinking and expanding his businesses. He always comes to us with something unique, praiseworthy stuff, but maybe someone cast an evil eye on him quite badly. There was a theft in one of his shops where he lost almost 100k USD worth of mobile phones, a kind of storehouse for his multiple mobile shops. Someone close to him betrayed him for sure. Otherwise, it wasn't possible to do this damage so cunningly which requires quite a lot of confidential information. Saw him giving a statement where he just demands the thief; he doesn't want anything back, just the name of the culprit; the rest will be done afterward.
How did I start this, and where am I heading? Wait a moment.
I shared this incident with someone I know; I thought she would be sad enough to see someone doomed like this. Instead, she started laughing; at first, she said she was happy to see him crying like this; I was like, what!!!!! After a moment, she revealed a few truths about him from three years back; one of her friends was close to this boy. Actually, that friend got close after visiting his shop when he was just starting his business; his excessive flirting somehow managed her to befriend that guy. Within a few days, she discovered how characterless he was, his intentions were too bad to accept, and instantly she cut off all connections with him and never contacted him again. Her friend also discovered a few of the characterless activities she acquired after investigating a little bit. That's why the person I shared this news with became happy to see him suffering like this, as that guy is a characterless person to them, she knew about these activities of him through her friend’s bitter experience.
After getting to know these, I was like, "I was an admirer of his works, but not anymore; I can't really digest a characterless person no matter how good he tries to be. In the end, there is a monster sleeping deep inside him." That's why, unless we know someone in-person shouldn't be trusted blindly with what he shares, not everyone is actually what they pretend to be.
