Story
The Roller Coaster Engineer’s Final Journey
Jake had usually cherished roller coasters. Ever due to the reality he used to be a kid, he would beg his mom and father to take him to the enjoyment park and trip the biggest and quickest ones He cherished the joys of the speed, the twists and turns, the United States and downs, and the sensation of weightlessness.
He grew up to be an engineer and designed roller coasters for a living. He was once proud of his work and loved trying out his creations. He usually made certain they have been secure and exciting for everyone. He had a recognition for being one of the fine in the industry.
But then he obtained sick. He used to be identified with a terminal sickness that left him susceptible and in pain. He knew he didn’t have a great deal time left. He determined to spend his closing days doing what he cherished most driving roller coasters.
He traveled round the world, journeying special enjoyment parks and driving each roller coaster he may want to find. He didn’t care about the strains or the crowds or the weather. He simply desired to sense the rush of adrenaline one ultimate time.
He rode them all the wood ones, the metal ones, the inverted ones, the launched ones, the looping ones, the spinning ones, the flying ones, the diving ones. He rode them in sunlight hours and at night, in rain and in shine, in summer season and in winter. He rode them with pleasure and with gratitude.
He saved a journal of his experiences and wrote down his ideas and emotions after every ride. He wrote about how every roller coaster made him feel, what he favored and disliked about them, how they in contrast to others he had ridden before. He wrote about his recollections of driving curler coasters as a kid, as a teenager, as an adult. He wrote about his desires of driving roller coasters that hadn’t been constructed yet.
He wrote about his existence, his family, his buddies, his paintings. He wrote about his regrets, his hopes, his fears, his desires. He wrote about his love for curler coasters and how they had formed him as a person.
He wrote till he had nothing extra to say.
On his final day, he went to his favourite enjoyment park and rode his favourite roller coaster. It was once an historic wood one that he had designed himself. It was once easy however elegant, easy however thrilling, traditional however timeless. It used to be perfect.
He obtained on the the front seat and buckled himself in. He smiled at the operator and gave him a thumbs up. The operator smiled returned and pushed the button.
The teach started out to cross slowly up the elevate hill. Jake appeared round and took in the view. He saw the park beneath him, full of humans having fun. He heard the click-clack of the chain as it pulled him greater and higher. He felt the anticipation construct up in his chest as he approached the top.
He opened his eyes and noticed the drop in advance of him. He raised his fingers and shouted with excitement.
He felt the teach launch from the chain and plunge down the hill. He felt the gravity pull him down and then push him up once more as he went over the airtime hills. He felt the g-forces press him in opposition to his seat as he went round the curves. He felt each bump and vibration of the timber music as it carried him along.
He laughed and cried at the equal time.
He felt alive and free.
He reached the cease of the experience and got here to a cease at the station. He regarded at his watch and noticed that it was once time.
He unbuckled himself and obtained off the seat. He walked slowly toward the exit gate. He grew to become round and regarded at the curler coaster one ultimate time.
He smiled and whispered:
“It’s been a great ride.”
