The water going into our washing machine is barely coming into it and the sprinklers that we have on our areca palms keep getting stopped up. We have a reverse osmosis system for our drinking water and it is running slower.
My husband filled a 5-gallon bucket with water and let it settle, the bottom of the bucket was covered in sand. Our well is only 10 or 12 years old, I can not believe it is already messing up.
My husband bought the pipe and fittings to put a drop pipe down it. The well is 60 feet deep so he bought 40 feet of pipe. He had to cut the well pipes in 2 places and unscrew it from the metal pipe that goes into the ground.
We put the first 20 foot pipe down the well and I held it while my husband PVC glued the second 20 foot pipe to it. He kept telling me not to let go of the first piece because if I did our well would be no good. I had a death grip on it.
He had already put this fitting on the second pipe, it keeps it from going down the well.
But there was one problem, he forgot to put this fitting on, it goes under the one that stops it from going down the well. We had to pull the entire 40 feet of pipe back out of the well to put this fitting where it needed to be.
With all of the fittings in place and everything put back together we now have water with no sand in it.
Next, we had to take each sprinkler head off and clean them but then we found that the indexing valves were clogged with sand. I wonder if I should hide his guns, but I know he will have a supplementary gun. It took a couple of hours and a few choice words, but he got them working again.
