THIS PUMP!!! Before I bought it, I watched a video of it being installed on a pool like mine, so I knew it would work. This morning, I took it out of the box and saw that the hoses for it are 1&1/2 inch, the hose fittings on the pool are 1&1/4 inch. I went online and found they make adapters to connect the hoses I have to the hoses on the pump. This will make for long hoses and another 40 dollars spent.
To connect the airiator, they say I have to cut a bigger hole in the pool, I am not doing this, no way and no how!!! I will try to see if the one that came with the smaller pump will work, if not, then it will not have one.
Now for the sand, it takes 120 pounds and it is sold in 50 pound bags, 75 dollars for sand. I was ready to dig a trench and bury the entire thing. Then my husband found something called filter balls that people use instead of sand. I can get a bag of them for 20 bucks. Now my 140 dollar pump has cost 200 dollars, and I do not know how well these filter balls will work. I feel like I have gone down a rabbit hole with this entire plan.
