This is my post for #freewriters Sunday prompt morbid responsibility hosted by
The first thing that I want to say is Happy Easter to all freewriters.
I did not plant this tomato plant, it came up in a pot that has an avocado growing in it. I dug it up when it was still small and put it in a pot of its own. I have never seen a tomato plant like it, it has very thick leaves and the healthiest stalk that I have ever seen on a plant.
When the tomatoes started to get ripe my husband put wire around it to keep the birds or whatever else wants to eat them from eating them. By the above photo, you can tell, it did not work. I guess a small rat thought it was his/her morbid responsibility to eat my ripest tomato. I have been having dreams about how good these tomatoes were going to be.
My husband had made these little cages to put around our mangos before they got ripe and the squirrels could eat them.
He put a piece of drain sock over the other tomatoes that would not fit into the cage.
This is another tomato plant that came up in another pot with an avocado tree in it. I do not know what it is about them coming up in the avocado trees but who complains about free plants? It is a different kind of tomato, but I am sure it will be tasty....
I thought I would share a conversation that I had with someone this morning.
Happy Easter Honey, "Is it Mother's Day?" No, baby, it is Easter. "Oh. ok, Happy Mother's Day.
I will take it, however, I can get it.
