This is my post for #freewriters Sunday prompt scoundrel hosted by
Mean, rats, low lives, or a scoundrel whatever you wish to call them, they are out there. I think that I have been lucky to only come in contact with 3 of these types of people. I have done a good job of steering clear of them, only associating with people with god values.
My neighbors are in this group of three. I never thought someone could be like they are. If I ever get the money I will make use of our 40-foot easement into our property. We just do not have the money to take them to court.
This is a concrete road coming into our property which is on their property, the county says that it is our legal driveway since when we bought it, it was the only road into here.
When our old neighbors lived there my husband built a dirt road through the woods to keep our traffic separated from theirs, they were drug dealers. The only problem was when it rains we get stuck so we would still have to use the concrete road.
These new neighbors blocked our entrance to the concrete road and told us we were not allowed to use it, she called the cops and had them tell us if we used it we would be charged with trespassing. You see the road turns halfway down it to where it is outside of the 40 feet and unless we can take them to court we can not drive outside of the 40 feet.
When she first told us not to use the road she said that they wanted their privacy, then they had the land cleared between our two roads where there was no privacy at all. She thought that she could make us not cross here property at any point, she thought that we should use the road going to a factory next door and come in through his fence. That did not fly with the owner of the factory and he won. So we still cross her land but can not use the concrete road.
This picture was taken when it was half-cleared, the road that my husband built is against the bamboo and that is where we have to drive, you can see the concrete road to the right. What difference does it make to make us drive on the dirt when it rains, other than them being A-holes?
Doesn't this look like there is privacy between the two roads? Not only are the scoundrels they are bullies and I have no use for people like them.
