This is my post for #freewriters Wednesday prompt screaming nerves hosted by
This photo is of me and my brother that passed away this month. He was my last living brother. The other 4 all died in their twenties. Victor was the first, he passed in Vietnam, Butch passed from a car wreck, and the one that just passed was driving. Jimbo was taken to the hospital because of sniffing gas and was beaten to death while there. Hoss worked for a lumber company and was unloading pallets of 3/4-inch plywood when the band broke and it all came crashing down on him. All of them except the last one died young, they never married and they never had kids.
Tommy was the last. In the 1970's he had a battery blow up in his face and he lost his right eye. I told him that having one eye wasn't that bad, I have lived my entire life with one eye, and now he is like me. This is why I chose this picture of us, you can see he has one eye and my right eye is looking to the right whereas the left one is looking straight ahead.
I was at the eye doctor today and found some interesting things that I never knew about my eye. My eye problem is called Amblyopia. I have always thought it was caused by screaming nerves or some sort of nerve issue. Nope, it is not. The doctor tells me that it is a brain problem. I am thinking great, a brain problem, I am glad my husband is not in here. The Dr goes on to tell me that if it could be done, they could take my good eye and put it in the bad eye spot and I would not be able to see out of it. You could put the bad eye in the good eye spot and I would be able to see out of it. There is a bad connection between my brain to my eyesight on that side of my head.
