compost compost compost compost compost when is a story going to start?
How about one with a little leprechaun jumping out of the compost bin and shouting
Do not empty this bin! It is my home. I've got geese, chickens, sheep, goats and cows living in here with me.
Yeah, that story isn't going anywhere
How about snakes? Snakes in a compost pile, is that a thing? I don't see why not.
So the snakes in the compost pile were dancing a jig. That's right, a jig. They had little tap shoes on their bellies, and were swishing the rhythms out. I could hear them from my bedroom, which should have started this story, but I didn't know it until just now.
So there I was in my bedroom, hearing this weird swishing in my backyard. I could see my compost bin swaying from my window and I thought "I really need to get a more sturdy stand for that bin!" My next thought was "Those pesky leprechauns must be back."
This is my entry to 's daily freewrite challenge. Today's prompt is compost.
I wasn't going to post this because it isn't a nicely wrapped up story like my usual fiction freewrites, but then I skimmed a freewrite post by one of our whales, which was a pile of trash. Just this whale spouting off for no reason. I didn't take the time to check if he really was a whale, but I assumed so because his freewrite had made, in its first few minutes, ten times what my best freewrites make overall. So all the worms came out of their compost piles to upvote a whale's garbage. Why shouldn't I post a tiny bit of trash too? I'd downvote his post, but I don't like living my life as a gnat.
