I looked at her dumbfounded. She had, just one week ago, asked me to lend her some money. Here she was, blowing wads of money that I had lent her on pretty things for her feet and her arm. I was pissed
When you asked me for money, I thought you needed it for rent!
"I paid my rent, and had a bit left over. So I bought shoes and a purse. Is there a problem?"
Yes! I need shoes and a purse, actually need them, but I can't afford them now because I lent you all that money!
"You can borrow these any time you like."
I would not be able to walk in your shoes (not that I would want to) and that purse is ugly as hell - I would not carry it to shoot groundhogs.
"You shoot ground hogs?!!"
When I was a kid, my mother would send me out to shoot any groundhogs she could see in her garden.
"Why didn't she do it?"
She didn't want to wreak her new shoes and purse.
