Daily prompt titled presidential pardon
Good day my freewriters family.
It's here again. I'm delighted to participate in today's prompt .
Growing up there's this notorious guy in our community well known for misconduct and disturbing the peace of the community...
Back then during my secondary school days this guy named Chris got into trouble he got into a fight with someone from the neighbouring village over a land dispute , that led to him committing murder ,though he ran away but the angry youths from the neighbouring village later found after few months of the incident maybe chris thought he was already a free man at that time he never knew the people were very much still into the case, they handed him over to the police and from there he was charged to court , found guilty and persecuted for 15years, sadly this guy is the only child of his parents , which the dad is even late ,it was just him and the mum , imagine how devastated the mum will feel hearing about the news about her only child, seriously it took God's intervention and the love from her family and friends in the community to survive such situations, she developed hypertension which later progressed to stroke it wasn't really an easy one for this poor widow whose only child will be spending his next 15years in jail....
5 year later , around October just after the presidential election and swearing in of the new president, The president visited the delta state correctional centre in ogwashi during his visit to different states in the country, God so merciful he ordered for the release of some inmate of which this guy was among....
That was the happiest day of his life as he couldn't wait to go back to his mum... Going back to his community everyone was so happy to welcome him back and his mum was very much joyful because she thought she'd lost her only child, she reigned praises to God thanking him for the Presidential pardon that got his son out of jail while she was still alive.
Indeed the presidential pardon made the poor widow happy ever after and as for Chris he actually turned a new leaf,he proceeded to learning a trade so he could take care of his sick mum .
Thank you for stopping by my post.
I appreciate all your support towards my growth 🤗
