Today I will be making a freewrite base on the topic "the role of a care giver" and I hope that you all will get to learn something from it.
I know that so many of us have been given this role before in our lives though for me I haven't taken this role before but I know someone who does and that person was my mother and it happened so many years ago when my father was very ill and was taken to the hospital.
I remember how my mom had to plead for a leave in her place of work so as to be able to have time to attend to my father's needs in the hospital, the job wasn't easy for my mom that is why as I sat down and remember how it was it prompted me to come up with this topic.
WHO IS A CAREGIVER
A caregiver is a person who is being entrusted with the responsibility of taking care of another person and attended to their needs in everywhere possible until their needs are met.
A caregiver can either be entrusted in taking care of either a sick person or children who are very young and unable to take care of themselves.
DO YOU THINK THAT CARING FOR A SICK PERSON SHOULD BE A TEAM EFFORT OR THE WORK OF A SINGLE PERSON?
*I seriously do not think that caring for a sick person should be only an individuals work rather it should be a team work depending on the type of patients whose needs are to be met.
For example when caring for a child it doesn't necessarily requires a team work to be able to take care of a kid but when taking care of a very sick patient for example if such a patients cannot move not to talk of going to the toilet, at this point it would require a team of caregivers to be able to meet the needs of such a patients.
SOME IMPORTANT QUALITIES OF A CAREGIVER
Sometimes being a caregiver isn't just enough as they are some important qualities in which a person needs to possese in other to be successful as a caregiver and there are;
- A good caregiver needs to be understanding
- A caregiver needs to be patience with who there are taking care of
- A caregiver have to br kind and approachable
- A caregiver needs to be a good listener as some patients would want to share their situations etc.
