Written for 's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2951: a dreaded report
I rarely post twice on one day. In fact, I often do well to post twice in one month. But I just saw a notification that today is my Hive birthday. Nine years on Hive! It's hard to believe it has been that long.
I started out writing mostly fiction, primarily in the Freewriters community. It was a good place to start, and I still post there from time to time. In fact, I plan to put this post in that community, because the reminder of my Hive birthday was definitely not a dreaded report.
Eventually, I drifted into more non-fiction, writing about my road trips, baking, sewing, and gardening adventures. Sometimes I write about my childhood years, or the mysteries of modern health care.
Several of the people who I initially followed are no longer posting. I often wonder what became of them. Did they simply lose interest in writing? Did their lives get so crazy, they didn't have the time to write? Are they even still alive?
Having limited time to devote to Hive, I often read the posts of only about a dozen people. I feel as if I have become well-acquainted with them, and I wish I could meet all of them in person. But some of them live on other continents, or on the other side of America, so it's unlikely I will do so.
Currently, I am very annoyed with Mr. Trump for attacking Venezuela. They haven't done anything to provoke us, and I have Hive friends there who don't deserve to have a war thrust upon them.
I didn't set a timer for this "5-minute" freewrite, and I suspect much more time than that has elapsed, so I will now come to an abrupt stop.
I am quite certain the image came from Pixabay, but I no longer have the link.
