I keep telling myself, "At least we don't have to shovel rain!" So far this has been a rather mild winter, with lots and lots of rain. Yes, it has snowed a few times, but it has rained a lot more than it has snowed. I grew up in western Washington where it rained a great deal of the time, but since then I've lived in much drier climates and therefore find it odd to be getting so much rain. Especially in the winter, when it ought to be snowing.
We keep a shovel near each door, and one in the garage. We have these things called Sweep-a-brooms that work wonderfully for cleaning snow off a car, so we keep one of those near each door, too. And my husband has a tractor with a blower attachment, a plow, and a scoop. So we are prepared for snow. Last year it dumped snow on us all of February, as I recall. That could happen again.
I used to go outside and play in the snow with my kids. We would build snowmen, and play fox-and-geese, and go sledding on our little hills. I always liked to play in the snow as a kid, so it was fun to do it again with my kids. Now I could play in the snow with my granddaughter, if it ever snowed enough to do so. Except I'm too slow to play fox-and-geese now, and I sled more cautiously. Hurray for the aging process.
