The green bin and bag are collected once or twice a month. The green bin is the smallest size, for compost and at most contains a small bottom.
The green bag is of poor quality and can be collected at a few collection points: the thrift shop, and the municipal counter that is present in the library for a few hours twice a week. Are they not there? Then there are no green bags either. The quality of the bag is poor. The bag falls apart after a while and sunlight or rain accelerates the process.
The green bin and bag have not yet been collected, my daughter reports. It is a stinking mess on the street. The bags fall apart into pieces and the contents (plastic, cans and tetra packs) do not make it any fresher.
I report it to the municipality. The lady will ask and tell her that there is an error in the collection schedule. It will be our turn next week.
"Can you tell everyone that they will collect everything again?"
Given the mess, I don't think that will work. My daughter picks up the wheelie bin and that's all we can do.
Biodegradable bags are definitely not good for the environment. A rain of plastic pieces is falling on the neighbourhood. How much of this is inhaled?
P.s. The colour green cases are away even if the bags are stored in the dark.
