Sharks... they are no different from the whales, the orcas, and the misers who get rich off the backs of others' ideas. Most of us are familiar with plagiarism, or at least the stealing of ideas while the inventor is made out to be a fool. A prime example is Belle's father (indeed, from "Beauty and the Beast"). That father isn't called Crazy Maurice for nothing. And what about Google, which invented very little itself and primarily steals ideas from others, luring people in under false pretences? And that is precisely what the programme "Shark Tank" is all about. Inventors who genuinely believe they stand a chance when they present their idea. It's lovely to hear an offer being made, only for it to be withdrawn just as quickly (behind the scenes). And what about people who only take part to promote themselves? Or the wealthy individuals who already have enough cash to develop their idea? Is it really necessary for them to rake in the money for its execution? I suppose it depends on what you find humorous, or rather, your idea of a pastime, but this is certainly not entertainment, except for the filthy rich who must be laughing themselves silly and only take part to launch a new invention under their own name.
This, by the way, reminds me of Dyson. No one had faith in him, and he simply decided to have his invention manufactured himself. Not in his own country, but far from home. Perhaps a good tip for any inventor who is sitting there hoping, while in reality being cheated. Applying for a patent is wise, but there too, you can be thoroughly swindled by an employee.
