Have you seen Extraordinary Attorney Woo?
This is about a girl (woman) with autism who becomes a lawyer and, thanks to her photographic memory, wins many unlikely cases that another lawyer would not take on or lose. Lawyer Woo is indeed different from others but the question is whether she would be considered normal if she were not autistic but had high intelligence and photographic memory. Personally, I think not.
Woo was raised by her father who therefore stopped studying law. Her father is a hardworking man who will do anything for his daughter but is also lonely.
Incidentally, after a difficult start, lawyer Woo is appreciated by the law firm that wants to employ her. Woo has a good friend who, among other things, advises her on how to behave to be accepted. The advice is followed although it does not always end well.
As the series progresses, Woo seems to change more and more and becomes aware of what others think, and how they feel, and becomes more social.
Like everyone else, she wonders how it feels to be in love, and whether she will ever get married, and when she does find the right one, she seems to be able to break off the relationship easily after hearing how his sister feels about her.
The prompts piles of books (all those law books Woo read and laws she memorized as an 8-year-old), fast and dirty (is a colleague who tries to get rid of her and so are many cases), network (if her dad didn't study she would never be hired which means one needs to network to get somewhere), busy street (it would drive her crazy but she manages, even takes public transport, by using a headphone), embroidered table clothes (I doubt you will find them in the small restaurant her father runs) and wool festival (good topic for the next case to defend)... if you think about it all fit in her life.
Watch this catching series and while you do ask yourself how tolerant you are if this girl would be your daughter, sister, friend, co-worker, or partner for life.
I loved watching this series. This girl Woo-Young-Woo makes me smile (gosh is she beautiful) just like she does to the man Lee Jun-ho who loves her but can't or doesn't dare to speak out (too shy or too afraid?).
