What's worse, a late essay or no essay? I would think no essay is worse if you're hoping to get a grade. I don't know. The last essay I had to write was before I graduated with my degree in 2011.
I don't make a habit of writing essays these days. I can be more selective about the topics I write about. Trying to even remember how to write an essay is escaping my brain now.
I think an essay first has to include a topic sentence and, in school, at least three supporting paragraphs and a summary of the topic to close it. The academic essay should support an argument. That's my vague memory of essays.
I suppose if I were to write an essay I might argue the virtues of supporting the freedom of speech. Yes, I know, this is a hot topic nowadays. I believe man was created with the freedom to speak, even if someone else doesn't agree with his/her position.
Preserving freedom of speech has long been a tenant of the United States Constitution. This, among other freedoms, is under attack. One post isn't sufficient to scratch the surface of this hot-button topic.
For now, America still has this freedom of speech, in addition to many others, like the freedom of choice to select our Healthcare. We still have the freedom to say no to medical procedures (like Coronavirus vaccines, although my employer tried hard to make it an employment requirement).
Americans have the freedom to choose religion. I'm thankful that that freedom with that freedom I was able to avoid that vaccine).
This post isn't an essay and it's not too late to be a freewrite, but I hope you enjoyed reading it.
