One day, I told my mother to buy me a pet, but she said she didn’t have money to buy me one. So one day, I saw an ant and decided to use it as a pet.
One day, my friend asked me what type of pet I had. I told them I had a pet ant. They began to laugh and make fun of me.
So one day, I decided to keep all my ants in a container. Every time I watched them, I gave them food and observed how they moved. I also gave all of them names. They were my only friends since my classmate at school refused to be my friend.
I loved the ants so much that I didn’t let anything harm them. I always watched them every day.
Then one day, I went to check where I kept the container—it was gone. I began to search everywhere but couldn’t find it. I went to ask my mum, and she said she had thrown it away because she thought it was something strange.
I fell to my knees and began to cry. I could never see my lovely little ants again, the ones that always made me happy. I cried again.
My mother had no choice; she felt sad. Had she known, she wouldn’t have thrown it away. Later, she brought me a cat, but I still missed my little ants.
The cat was better than the ant I had as a pet, but the loss still stung. Now, my friends couldn’t make fun of me anymore.
