I always in my life wanted to go out of Nigeria. My parents are planning to travel out of Nigeria. I can't wait for that day to come! What will pain me the most is my friend—I am not going to see her again. I will miss her, especially my neighbor's baby I usually carry. I will miss her when I am gone. I have to wish my friends, teachers, neighbours, and any other person I know farewell.
My mum went to do her own passport. We are going next year, September on the 24th. Well, I can't wait for that day to come! All my family have their passports except my mum, who went to do her own in Abuja.
I told my friend Eva about my travelling. She felt like I should not go, but I have to... Best friends for life feelings. It is what my parents want, and I will start schooling there. My friend began to cry: "Olive, I’m going to miss you! Everyone hates me; you are my only lovely friend. Why is everyone treating me like this?" said Eva.
"Focus on your studies. You may later have a friend in the future, but there will be a time you will leave this world. Remember, God is your real best friend. The Bible said, 'Cast all your burden upon Him, for He cares.' What did you come to school for? To study! So focus on your studies so you can become someone in life. I will chat with you on WhatsApp to encourage you," I said.
Then she thanked me and left with her head down. I felt sorry for her, but there is nothing I can do.
So when it was September 24th, we started our journey. We packed our belongings. Then I remembered Eva. Eva my bestie. Thank God that I have her whatsapp contact. I will chat with her so she won't feel alone. When we were done, we entered our car and went to the airport. They asked us for our passport. They also asked for our ticket: "Your ticket out of here." Then we gave them.
When we were done, we entered the airport. Soon the plane took off. I looked through the window—I couldn't even see any houses! I could see trees, but the clouds were covering them. I couldn't even see anyone.
When we got there, my dad rented a house. We stayed there. I started schooling there. I chatted with Eva and sent pictures of how the USA looked like. Then she answered with a smiley sticker. I saw white people; I even saw Nigerian people. The USA is the most beautiful place I have never seen before! It is beautiful and well developed. I am so grateful to be here.
THE END.
