My Hive family, how is your day going? I welcome you to my blog .
look at this cartoon and tell me if it is not exactly what we see every day.See the person in the water? Only one hand is waving desperately for help. The person is drowning!
But the crowd on dry land? They are not jumping in to save the life. They are not throwing anything to pull the person out. They are not even calling for help.
Rather, they are all stretching their phones high, recording the scene like it’s a movie.Faces calm, eyes on their screens. The caption says it all: “PEOPLE NOWADAYS”.
In the old days, accident happen,car crash,fire, fall, or someone drowning, people rush to help immediately to;
- Give first aid.
- Carry the victim to hospital.
- Shout and call others to join in rescue.
Everybody forgets about themselves and focuses on saving life.
But today? The story has changed completely.
As soon as accident happens, the first reaction for many is,bring out phone and start filming.
Some do it for likes, comments, views and shares, they want the video to blow up on TikTok, Instagram, WhatsApp or Twitter.Others do it because they want to be the first to report it,the first to post “Breaking News” so people will say “Ah, this guy is always on point!” and follow them for more.Either way, the victim is left struggling while everyone hunts for clout. We see it all the time:
Road accident, people filming instead of rushing the injured to hospital.
Someone faints in public, crowd gathers with phones instead of helping.Child falls into well, videos are going viral before any real rescue starts.
My dear Hive friends, this cartoon hurts because it is the truth staring at us.
The big message I want us to carry away today, myself included:
Next time you see someone in danger ,no matter how small, put your phone down FIRST and HELP!
One hand that pulls a person to safety is worth more than 10,000 likes or being the “first to report.”
Life is not content.A human being is not a trending topic.Let us bring back the old spirit: Humanity first.
Help first.Record later, only after the person is safe.
Let’s keep reminding ourselves.Be the rescuer, not the recorder.Likes will come and go,but a saved life lasts forever.
What about you, Hivians? Have you seen this happen around you? Do you think it’s for likes, engagement or for “first to report” clout? Drop your honest thoughts below. Let’s talk.❤️
