Trust me when I say this, I really miss making videos and putting them on dtube.
I’ve been so busy because of the coronavirus pandemic situation that I’ve been totally focused on this new world of people suddenly validating video streaming, live streaming and working from home — it’s literally like people woke up overnight and said, yes, that’s the thing I need to do now, I need to change how I do my whole career.
In less than two months, I’ve started to entertain well over 300+ students into one of my courses that deal with video streaming. Of course, this is awesome and it’s splintered off to end up with newer clients from that and consultations for creating assets for them, I guess you can say that across the board all virtual gigs are up.
It’s changed a bit on upwork but I think that’s because maybe the nearly 40 million americans that are now unemployed all decided to sign up there and now we have more workers than work, that’s cool thou, I never had loads from there anyway and if I’m honest I much prefer making something and then selling it that way.

Social Media has changed for me as well, starting to do a lot more data driven stuff now because I can actually see the ebbs and flows and changes on a daily basis, I’ve found that hugely valuable because then it’s on me to fix something or realise when I need to jump in to stoke the fire or pump the brakes.
The weather has made things a little weird because of the up’s and downs of the heat and then the rain but it’s comforting to work really hard for a bunch of springs (2hrs at a time) and then the rains come and cool everything down — roll on the days of rum and cokes outside while streaming to a loved one with AirPods in, crossing fingers! :)
But yeah, that’s one thing more than anything out of all the socials that I miss is the video making and what’s WEIRD about it is that I’ve been putting a few videos out that really hit the spot for that and they did well, so I know that people are trying to get up to speed on it, big market place there, need to do more on the assets side so I’m a little torn right now
Also, decentralised video and streaming is coming in HARD now, sia is doing some amazing stuff and I expect them to be the AMAZON of the live streaming and video hosting world moving forward, I’m definitely putting funds into SIA and LBRY — both are doing really great things at the moment at the software keeps getting better.
I guess I’m just in a making cycle rather than a consumption and conversation cycle, I don’t really ever have the time to chat “over” the internet, I much prefer face to face conversation over beers and some good food and a great view. I can only do so much navel gazing over the where I’d like to be rather than work towards getting there!
Just know that I have a long long list (about 20/30) items of things I want to start talking about and I DO intend to get too it — both myself and dayle have been looking at software, tools and upgrades on that front so we can both do a bit more vlogging and podcasting again and I KNOW we will get there, frustrates me that it’s not part of the day because I know we have a lot to share for couples out there working together online.
Videos coming again soon, just let me get through this current attention economy bulge and I’ll be back to the comfortable place of sitting in front of the video camera gassing soon, I’ve got a videoblogging community to build after all!
Oh and for quick fire little quick hive microblogging you can find me over on the great new site that
built called https://d-hiver.herokuapp.com
Peace!
